Located down on the Gemeenteplein is the Rosier linen shop, now the Don Camillo restaurant. The brick facade features a series of remarkable Art Nouveau tile panels based on designs by Helman. The very high-quality compositions are unique in Hoegaarden. The missing fifth panel was lost due to a shell impact. This photo from our Grand Cru archive (Verbeke collection) shows the damage during WWII. The Flemish Heritage Image Bank describes the house as follows: "Rosier-Christiaens House with shop (Heritage object ID: 306930 Gemeenteplein 21). Shop house in neo-traditional style with Art Nouveau tile panels, cadastrally registered in 1906 commissioned by the widow Christiaens-Putzeys and Henri Rosier-Christiaens, surveyor." The original inscriptions referred to the goods for sale: “Aunages (a technical term derived from the old unit of length, ell), Cotons, Toiles, Rideaux.”
